nov 11th

Today is pepero day in Korea! A pepero is like a long biscuit finger dipped in chocolate, yum. Everybody gives pepero's to each other, it's kind of like valentines day....but only for pepero's, I dont know who invented this day, someone involved in the marketing of pepero's i would imagine.
Anyway, I got some of them off my students, so cute!

On a more serious note....something unusual is going on here. I went to two different Converse stores to purchase some new hip shoes, and both stores had a size 5 and a size 6 and a half and nothing in between. Initially, obviously, I refused to accept this and just kept repeating myself, but no, they understood perfectly. They actually looked at me in confusion for even suggesting a size 5 and a half or a six. Apparently a size 6 doesn't exist here. This is so strange, so all Koreans are either a 5 or a 6 and a half in Converse and that's it! wtf Korea?
