beauty moment

I'd like to take a second and have a rant about shower gel, I've been thinking about it an inordinate amount this week.

One of my favourite beauty products ever and number one shower based product is Dr. Bronners magic soap, it looks like this.....

and it is truly magical. It's an 18-in-one soap, now I havnt yet discovered 18 ways to use it but it says it on the bottle (along with some rather off-kilter religious propaganda) and I believe it. I mostly just use it in the shower, and i cannot get enough of the stuff, I would drink it if I could. Its an oil soap so it doesn't dry your skin, and it smells amazing! I use the peppermint one, anyone who knows me well enough knows of my longstanding fondness of anything peppermint, but you can get loads of other smells, like lavender (also wonderful) rose and citrus. You can also put a few drops in the bath and it works a charm, I'm not one for bubbles.

Anyway, I just wanted to highly recommend it because its been on my mind a lot lately. Probably because I've been feeling guilty. Last week I went to Lush and, well, I acquired another shower gel. In my defense, I was drunk at the time.
I got a couple of things actually, as one tends to after having had a few pre-shopping tipples. Both of which are worth mentioning because they are both just so lovely...

1. Flying Fox shower gel

sooo nice, the smell of it is something else, and it stays around for agggeeesssss. I can actually still smell it now as we speak and I showered about an hour ago. I usually don't go for Lush products because the smell in the shop is so soapy, it gets up my nose so I try to avoid it. But I would most definitely make an exception for this, along with the second purchase......

2. Buffy exfoliating soap bar

its an exfoliating cream bar thing and its the best exfoliating device I've ever used. You just rub it everywhere and it smells gorgeous and exfoliates wonderfully and leaves like a creamy cream moisturizer on your skin, so its really really soft. I absolutely love it and am using it religiously at the moment to prepare my skin for some sun exposure.....and its working like a dream!

p.s if your interested, as far as i know, the only place in Dublin you can get the Dr.Bronners is American Apparell!
